English Language School in Dublin – City Centre

Our partner language school, ISI Dublin, has been teaching for over 20 years in two of its own school buildings right in the city centre: the historic Meetinghouse Lane – a 300-year-old stone warehouse with exposed stone walls, wooden floors and artwork by local artists – and the Parnell Square site. Both combine classic Irish architecture with modern classrooms and interactive whiteboards. The school has already been awarded the ‘Study Travel Star English Language School Europe Award’ four times and was named Ireland’s best language school in 2022 and 2023.

For parents and young people aged 13 and over.

All courses are accredited by Eaquals and recognised by ACELS/QQI for English language teaching; preparation for Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE), IELTS or the Trinity ISE exam is available on request.

Map of Dublin, Ireland

The Irish capital, Dublin, is situated in the east of the island at the mouth of the River Liffey where it flows into Dublin Bay. The city can be reached quickly and easily by plane, with many direct flights from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, including with the Irish airline Aer Lingus, Lufthansa and, of course, Ryanair.

By the way, if you’d prefer to travel to Ireland in your own car, that’s no problem! As well as the ferries between England and Ireland, there are two routes from Cherbourg and Roscoff in France directly to Rosslare in Ireland.

Images Impressions of Dublin, Ireland

Impressions of Dublin, Ireland

There are many reasons to visit Dublin: the hospitable people and cosy pubs, but also the many Celtic artefacts and remnants of times gone by. And, very importantly, Dublin is considered the most family-friendly capital in Europe. At weekends, County Dublin attracts families and nature lovers with its magnificent nature reserves and botanical gardens.

Children and culture: a rare combination – unless you’re in Dublin, Europe’s most family-friendly capital. As our easy language school is right in the city centre, you can explore Dublin with ease on foot. Should your children ever lose the desire or energy to walk, Eco-Taxis are there to the rescue. These are rickshaws for two people. They’ll take you anywhere you like in the city centre for free. The drivers are paid by a sponsor, but they’re happy to receive a small tip. Stops include the start and end of Grafton Street. The street life in Temple Bar and on Grafton Street – where very funny and imaginative street performers earn their living – as well as the bus tours around Dublin, are exciting for all age groups.

Dublin offers a wealth of options for families. There’s no shortage of history and culture here. For example, you could visit the famous Trinity College, St Patrick’s Cathedral or the National Gallery of Ireland. A must-visit attraction for children and teenagers is the Aqua Zone, a water park of superlatives boasting the largest water slides in the whole of Europe.

A visit to Dublin Zoo is also well worth it. With its diverse range of animal species, the zoo is one of the best-known in Europe. The National Botanic Garden is an attractive destination in Dublin for letting off steam, marvelling at nature and, in particular, for plant lovers.

Of course, no visit would be complete without a trip to the famous Guinness Storehouse for adults! The museum is also an interactive experience that gives you a much better understanding of Ireland’s national drink.

In Dublin’s parks, the green countryside and along the nearby coast, there’s plenty of space and opportunities to play, explore and marvel. You’ll find meadows where children can simply run about in the green spaces in the centre of Merrion Square and St Stephen’s Green, and, above all, in the vast Phoenix Park. There’s a truly lovely children’s playground on the east side of St Stephen’s Green. The Guinness Storehouse is, of course, a delight for children with an interest in technology, but for parents it can naturally have a completely different significance and, whether you like Guinness or not, should definitely be on your itinerary. Perhaps after your third Guinness, you’ll be able to relate to the following: your head is buzzing and ringing. In Dublin, there are two ways to experience Irish poets – by reading their books and, even better, by popping into a pub. From Dublin, it’s just a stone’s throw to historic sites such as Newgrange or Glendalough.

Its vibrant atmosphere, international ambience and, at the same time, Irish laid-back attitude make Dublin one of the most popular cities in Europe.
