The quiet residential area in which the school is situated offers a safe and peaceful learning environment. The town centre is just a 5-minute walk away. Bournemouth’s many attractions, including its famous golden beaches and lively nightlife, are also close by.
The Cavendish School of English was founded in 1983, is accredited by FDSV and DIN CERTCO, and is a member of RALSA. FDSV and DIN CERTCO carry out regular inspections to thoroughly assess not only the premises, but also our management, the quality of teaching, the accommodation facilities, and the safety and wellbeing of our students.
This promotes excellence and high standards in terms of care and efficiency across all areas, with the well-being and satisfaction of our students at the heart of everything we do. We offer a friendly and caring atmosphere, with a local doctor available round the clock. From the moment they arrive until they leave, our students are under the constant care and supervision of experienced staff, who receive regular training and guidance on the care and education of minors, as well as on their supervision and safety. Furthermore, all staff members hold a police clearance certificate to ensure they are suitable for working with minors.

Bournemouth, a lovely seaside resort with palm trees in the south of England, can be reached via the airports in Southampton or London (preferably Heathrow) or by ferry from France via the neighbouring town of Poole. You can, of course, also use the Eurotunnel. Our easy language school is situated right next to the beach in Bournemouth. Bournemouth’s seemingly endless sandy beaches are among the most popular in England, making Bournemouth a very popular holiday destination in England.
Bournemouth offers plenty of great leisure activities, especially for families. Whether it’s a visit to the Oceanarium right by the pier or a trip to Adventure Wonderland.
There’s plenty to discover, and you can put what you’ve learnt into practice straight away as a family. A visit to the Isle of Wight, which you can reach easily by ferry, should definitely be part of your stay.
A lovely day trip is to the neighbouring town of Poole, either by bus or as a pleasant day’s walk. Incidentally, ferries also run from Poole to Jersey and Guernsey.

Bournemouth’s beaches are situated along a breathtaking coastline. The bay has its own microclimate, with some of the warmest water temperatures in the UK. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Isle of Wight and find everything you could wish for on a day at the beach.
Whether you’re relaxing on a sun lounger, strolling along the traditional piers, hiring a beach hut, savouring the wonderful food or simply taking in the stunning coastline, Bournemouth Beach offers the perfect day out, whatever the weather.
Each section of the beach offers its own special attractions, such as water sports, the pier, events and festivals. The Bournemouth Air Festival is one of the world’s largest air shows. The following beaches have been awarded Blue Flag status: Alum Chine, Durley Chine, Fisherman’s Walk and Southbourne.
Bournemouth has three Victorian gardens: the Lower Gardens stretch right down to the sea and merge into the Central Gardens in the town centre, continuing on to the Upper Gardens. It’s a wonderful walk along the coast through the gardens for 1.5 miles, where you can discover a wide variety of trees, grasses and herbs. The Lower Gardens boast a magnificent display of flowers and host many events and activities during the summer months.
The Alum Chine neighbourhood boasts an award-winning tropical garden with views across the bay and a wealth of exotic plants. Take the train from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Chine Gardens. It’s an ideal day-out destination for families, with a children’s water play area, mini-golf and a café. There are also other gardens to admire in this region, such as the Italianate Gardens and the Rock Gardens. For nature lovers, there are nature reserves further inland that are well worth a visit, such as Stour Valley, Kinson Common and Turbury Common. Ideal for parents and children to let off steam.

Cavendish also offers a conversation club to help students master the art of informal communication.
General English courses are designed for learners of almost all levels who wish to build a solid foundation in English across a variety of language areas. In addition to grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing, the main aim of our English courses is to help learners communicate effectively in everyday situations within an English-speaking environment. General English courses are available for all levels and all age groups. Don’t be put off – our oldest participant to date is 85 years old!
All participants who successfully complete a course at the Cavendish School of English receive a certificate of achievement in accordance with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Participants at all levels quickly become more confident and speak more fluently as the course progresses. Students can practise their newly acquired skills and vocabulary in a relaxed and supportive classroom environment, as well as at the Cavendish Conversation Club. A wide range of teaching materials, modern teaching methods and technologies are used to ensure that lessons are engaging and tailored to the students’ own experiences.

English-language activity camp, Bournemouth
The Multi Activity Camp offers a great opportunity, particularly for the youngest children, to have their first experiences with the English language through play. They’ll play games, take part in sports and go on outings together with local children. This allows your children to come into contact with the English language in a relaxed way.
The Multi Activity Camp takes place about a 40-minute walk from our easy language school. You can drop your children off at the camp from 8.00 am. They will be looked after there until the camp starts at 9.00 am.

Every day presents a new challenge for the young builders, with themed days such as ‘Taking Flight’ or ‘Look to the Future’. These themed days encourage team-building and include exciting activities.

Staying at Little Robin Gate Guest House in Bournemouth
Our centrally located property is a beautiful, historic house, surrounded by two gardens, offering a peaceful stay and a restful night’s sleep
Little Robin Gate is within walking distance of the town centre and the beach. It is just a 10-minute walk from the central coach station and the main railway station. This high-quality property has retained many of its original features and boasts original wooden floors throughout. Despite its central location, it is very peaceful here, so during the day you can listen to the birds singing and watch the squirrels and the resident family of robins at ‘Little Robin Gate’ going about their daily lives.
Little Robin Gate is situated in the Dean Park neighbourhood, a quiet, attractive and green area of Bournemouth that surrounds the historic, listed cricket ground and pavilion. There are several parks nearby, including the impressive 120-acre Meyrick Park, which is ideal for adventurers of all sizes. Dean Park is surrounded by many lovely restaurants in Bournemouth town centre and in Charminster, and also boasts a charming local pub called ‘The Dean Park Inn’, which serves excellent food and drink. Many restaurants and pubs are dog-friendly, and we’d be happy to give you tips on where to go.
Bournemouth railway station and the main coach station are just a few minutes’ walk away, and we’re close to two of the main bus routes. So, if you’re travelling by public transport, this transport hub offers quick and convenient links to other charming neighbouring areas such as the New Forest, Sandbanks, Poole, Durdle Door and the Purbecks. Even without a car, this is a fantastic location, and you won’t feel restricted in the slightest (we don’t have a car ourselves, as everything is so close by or easily accessible). You’ll find suggestions in our travel guide. You’re welcome to bring your own bikes if you’d like to explore the area, or make use of the ‘Beryl Bikes’ bike and e-scooter hire, which is just a few minutes’ walk away (the e-scooters are great fun!).
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen if they don’t always want to eat out. The spacious, well-equipped kitchen features 2 ovens, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washing machine with dryer, a toaster, a bread maker, and plenty of cutlery, crockery and cookware.
