The English language school in Valletta is very centrally located, yet quiet. The programme includes English language courses for adults and school pupils. The language school also offers courses recognised as educational leave. You can book language courses for children aged 10 and over.
Our partner language school, the Cavendish Language School in Valletta, is an international English language school in the heart of the Maltese capital. It is housed in a lovingly restored historic building and offers a pleasant learning environment with modern, air-conditioned classrooms, free Wi-Fi and a cosy lounge area. The school is one of the few language schools to hold a licence for a location right in Valletta, enabling students to learn in a quiet yet central setting.
The range of courses is aimed at adults, young learners and groups, and includes, amongst other things, General English and preparation courses for international language exams. Lessons take place in small groups and are led by qualified teachers. Particular emphasis is placed on communicative learning, so that participants can confidently use their language skills in everyday life. Upon successful completion, learners receive a certificate in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Thanks to its central location in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Valletta, sights, cafés, restaurants and the main transport links are all within easy walking distance. This makes it easy to combine the language course with cultural experiences and leisure activities in Malta.

Malta is easily accessible by plane. The archipelago lies south of the Mediterranean island of Sicily and is roughly level with Tunisia. From the airport, it takes about 20 minutes by car to reach Valletta.
Malta is classified as a microstate. It lies 81 km south of Sicily. The archipelago consists of the main island of Malta, Gozo, Comino and the uninhabited islet of Cominotto. There are direct flights from many airports in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, mostly operated by Air Malta, Lufthansa and Ryanair. The bus is an excellent way to get around Gozo and Malta. Alongside Monaco, Malta is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. In its impressive museums, you can marvel at ancient armour, swords and cannons. A boat trip from Mgarr Harbour to Comino, to the ‘Crystal Lagoon’, is one of the absolute highlights of a visit to the Maltese islands. Huge rocks rising out of the sea and azure-blue water provide a stunning backdrop. The boat can stop at many spots, allowing you to jump into the water and go for a snorkel. For divers, the ‘Crystal Lagoon’ is a true paradise.
The neighbouring island of Gozo offers many attractions. The diving sites around the island are among the best and most beautiful in the whole of the Mediterranean. Another highlight: the oldest surviving freestanding structures in the world – the Ggantija Temples! They were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980. Among the culinary highlights in Malta is a Mediterranean classic: homemade goat’s cheese marinated in olive oil and pepper. The sandwiches at Café Jubilee are very popular. This café chain is well-known and much loved on the islands.

Leisure time activities
Our partner language school in Malta offers its language students a varied leisure programme which usefully complements their lessons whilst also providing an opportunity to practise English in a relaxed atmosphere. Group excursions are organised on a regular basis, allowing participants to explore the island and discover its cultural and natural attractions. These include, amongst other things, tours of the historic cities of Valletta and Mdina, visits to the traditional fishing village of Marsaxlokk, and excursions to the prehistoric temples and other well-known attractions in Malta.
Nature and beach experiences are also an important part of the leisure programme. For example, the school organises trips to the Blue Lagoon on the island of Comino, to Gozo, or to popular beaches such as Mellieħa Bay and Golden Bay. There, participants can swim, snorkel or simply enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere. In addition, various water sports activities are offered on request.
As well as day trips, there are regular group evening events. These include karaoke nights, film nights, beach parties, boat parties and international get-togethers, where students from different countries can strike up conversations and practise their English skills in a real-life setting. The programme is complemented by a Conversation Club, where teachers and participants visit interesting places in Malta together and make a conscious effort to speak English, thereby promoting language practice outside the classroom.
The Cavendish Language School’s leisure programme thus combines language learning with cultural experiences, sporting activities and international encounters. This gives participants numerous opportunities to make new friends, get to know Maltese culture and use their English skills naturally in everyday life.
