French Language School in Montpellier, France
Our modern easy language school is situated right in the historic centre of Montpellier, just a few minutes’ walk from the city’s main attractions. Here, you and your children aged 11 and over can learn or improve their French.
We use two buildings for our family language courses in Montpellier: one for adults and one for children and teenagers, which are just a 10-minute walk apart. Our easy language school for adults is equipped with 20 state-of-the-art classrooms, all of which are air-conditioned and some of which feature interactive whiteboards. In addition to the classrooms, there is a lovely garden and a lounge area for breaks. Vending machines for drinks and small snacks are available, as are free water dispensers. For self-study, the language school offers high-quality computers with flat-screen monitors, as well as a library with books, teaching materials and magazines.
Lessons for young people aged 11 and over from all over the world take place at a private college. This is used exclusively by our easy language school during the summer. The 10 classrooms here are flooded with natural light and offer a lovely learning atmosphere with state-of-the-art facilities. During breaks, children and teenagers have access to a lovely outdoor area where they can relax with their new friends. The school’s own canteen rounds off the facilities on offer. Our experienced and international team of teachers are very helpful and look forward to welcoming you and your family!
The distance between the two schools is approximately a 20-minute walk. After you have dropped your child off at the campus for young learners, you can walk to the adult school and collect your child again at the end of the school day.

The university city of Montpellier is situated approximately 10 km inland from the French Mediterranean coast, on the River Lez. From here, it is just under 170 km to Marseille and 350 km to Barcelona. Our easy language school is located right in the old town of Montpellier. Montpellier Airport is just over a 10-minute drive from the city centre and offers an ever-improving range of connections to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, for example from Basel, Hahn or Düsseldorf. Alternatively, you can, of course, travel by train, for example from Frankfurt, Cologne or Stuttgart, taking the TGV via Paris to Montpellier.
Montpellier’s beautiful old town has plenty to offer during your family holiday. Immediately after your language lessons, explore the city centre with your children, taking in the Place de la Comédie or the Faculté de Médecine. Or take a stroll through one of the many parks, such as the Jardins des Plantes. Montpellier Zoo is also well worth a visit. As well as this historic city, there are also amusement parks such as the action-packed Odysseum Fun Park, which features not only an aquarium but also a planetarium, an ice rink, a go-kart track, a bowling alley and cinemas. Fancy the beach or the mountains? The surrounding area offers a wide variety of ways to spend your free time. Beautiful sandy beaches, just a few kilometres away, or the countryside with its hills and vineyards beckon. The Plage du Grand Travers, one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, is about a 30-minute drive from our easy language school. All in all, Montpellier is a city for those who know how to enjoy life and warmly welcomes your family.
You can, of course, also travel via one of the nearby airports or the railway stations in Nîmes and Marseille. Whichever way you arrive, we’d be happy to book a suitable transfer for you.

Montpellier beautifully combines culture, modernity, 1,000 years of history and Mediterranean influences. The city is criss-crossed by the Sez. Everywhere – in the squares, along the riverbank or in the numerous, lovely green spaces – you’ll find cafés, some of which are wonderfully shaded by plane trees, inviting you to linger. The city has managed to blend modernity and historic charm to perfection; thanks to the influence of the university, it has retained its youthful spirit and boasts a very diverse cultural scene. There are charming courtyards to discover, views to enjoy, and every now and then there are great opportunities not only to unwind during your family holiday in France, but also to dip your toes in the water. The city is easy to explore by bike, but there’s also a good tram network at your disposal. Enjoying yourself in Montpellier is easy. You can find delicious French cuisine at reasonable prices at the Crêperie Les Casseroles en folie, at 5 Place de la Chapelle Neuve, 34000, Montpellier. Or why not have a spontaneous picnic with a wonderfully fresh baguette at a great vantage point (the aqueduct)?
The Botanical Gardens here in Montpellier were the first of their kind in France and should definitely be on any nature lover’s itinerary. The nearby, wide and gently sloping sandy beaches along the Montpellier coast are absolutely lovely. Here, you and your children can play, build sandcastles, go for a run, enjoy water sports or simply relax. By the way, if you can, try to avoid driving to the beach. The parking situation there is a disaster! From the Porte Marianne stop (which you can easily reach by tram, line 1), there are plenty of buses running to a wide variety of beaches. If one is full, the next one is called straight away. All in all, you’ll simply feel right at home during your family language holiday in Montpellier! Here, you’ll really get to know France and the French people up close.

Our intensive French courses are designed to help you perfect your oral skills in French (listening comprehension, speaking and interaction) and consist of 26 group lessons plus 4 one-to-one lessons. All our intensive courses are delivered using interactive flat-panel screens and take place in classrooms equipped with these screens. This means that your lessons will be modern, dynamic, lively and, of course, interactive. All the materials used are taken from French-language media (videos, radio programmes, reports) and encourage interaction and discussion. No grammar is taught in this course, but you will reuse and refine the grammatical tools developed in the standard course: your teacher is there to guide you, correct your mistakes and help you improve your spoken French communication skills.
