French Teen Course & Activities: 20 lessons in La Rochelle
French lessons take place in the morning.
Our multi-activity programme enables our junior students to improve their French quickly whilst having fun, thanks to our wide range of activities. These activities range from sailing to rock climbing, from museum visits to trips to Bordeaux, and much more!
It is possible to enrol on the exam preparation version of this programme. In this case, the activities on Wednesday and Friday afternoons are replaced by revision workshops. It is also possible to add 5 extra hours of private tuition to this course, which takes place for 1 hour per day before the afternoon activities.
On the first morning, students arrive at the school at 8.30 am. We organise a short interview with a teacher to ensure that everyone is placed in the correct group for lessons. All students take part in the 15-hour Junior French course and have lessons every morning from 9.00 am to 12.15 pm, except on Mondays. On Mondays, lessons take place from 10.00 am to 1.15 pm.
Afternoons are then spent with the activity leaders, who organise fun and interesting activities around La Rochelle! All participants are guaranteed to have a great time. If the young people are far from the school at the end of the day, they will be brought back so that their parents can collect them. It is possible to go home alone if the parents have given the school their written consent.
On some evenings, there are activities for younger pupils, either at the school or on the beach; the language school does not provide transport for pupils without accommodation to these activities.

French course for teenagers & sailing/windsurfing
French lessons take place in the morning.
The La Rochelle Nautique sailing club is less than a kilometre from the language school and 200 metres from the junior residence. Water sports lessons take place from Monday to Friday afternoons. There, you’ll meet lots of young French people, either club members or holidaymakers. Around 75 young people come every week to go sailing and windsurfing, 95 per cent of whom are French. It’s therefore a great opportunity to make friends and practise the language.
Sailing programme
Sailing lessons take place on a catamaran, with two of you per boat. Whenever possible, each student is paired with a young French person to make the most of the language experience. Pupils have lunch with the other young people at the school before setting off for the sailing club at around 1.40 pm. They prepare the boats and go sailing with an instructor for four hours every day.
Windsurfing programme
Discover the thrill of windsurfing with 4-hour lessons every day (Monday to Friday). There are several groups, depending on the participants’ level, so don’t worry if you’re a beginner. Windsurfing lessons are physically demanding, so you’re welcome to combine your programme with a sailing week.

French Teen Course & Sea, Surf & Wind
French lessons take place in the morning.
This new programme enables young people to discover the thrills of the water sports practised in La Rochelle and the surrounding area. Surfing, beach sailing, wakeboarding, skateboarding and many other sporting activities await you!
Come and discover the new programme for water sports enthusiasts – sea, surf and wind. A programme that allows the most adventurous to discover water sports in the great outdoors in many different forms.
At least one sporting activity is organised every afternoon – after lunch, students meet up with their dedicated group leader at the venue where the activity is taking place. Some activities are quite a long way from La Rochelle (1 hour), so pupils need to set off on time to enjoy each activity to the full. The weather can affect the running of some activities (tides, waves, rain, etc.) – in such cases, an alternative activity is always offered.
WAKEBOARDING – WATER SKIING
At the Aiguillon-sur-Mer water sports centre, we take the pupils on water skiing lessons where they can experience the thrills of knee-boarding, water skiing and wakeboarding. For the bravest among them, there are ramps set up!
STAND-UP PADDLE
Accompanied by our instructors, our pupils set off on a stand-up paddle adventure. Beginners give it a go on the Rompsay Canal, whilst more advanced paddlers head out to sea. We organise navigation courses and races for the young people; sometimes we hire an XXL stand-up paddleboard so that all the young people can sit on the same board at the same time!
Surfing lessons
With a surf instructor who offers mobile lessons around La Rochelle. This means he takes the pupils to where the waves are to ensure the perfect lesson. On days when conditions aren’t suitable for surfing, the lessons are replaced by skateboarding lessons with the same instructor.
SAILING
3-hour beach sailing sessions at low tide with an instructor from the Sand Yachting Club in La Faute-sur-Mer, to discover the thrill of speed on the sand!

Sailing course for children in La Rochelle
This programme enables parents and grandparents to organise a stay for their children or grandchildren and give them the opportunity to take part in our courses and activities. Adults can also take advantage of our French courses for adults at the same time, if they wish.
Sailing lessons
Our easy Partmerschule in La Rochelle works in partnership with La Rochelle Nautique, less than a kilometre from the school.
Sailing lessons are offered and children are divided into groups according to their age:
- For 8–9-year-olds – the Optimist
- For 10–12-year-olds – catamaran or windsurfing
Our programme includes an activity led by an Inlingua instructor, transport from the school to the sailing club, the club licence including specific insurance, and alternative activities should weather conditions prevent sailing.
