Staying with a Canadian host family in Vancouver
Staying with a local host family has many advantages. During your language study trip to Canada, this gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself fully in Canadian culture and practise your English through natural conversation. What’s more, you get to experience the openness and hospitality for which Canadians are world-renowned.
All our host families are carefully selected to ensure you can enjoy a safe and relaxed environment whilst on your English course in Canada. Our families enjoy meeting students from all over the world, and some have been hosting students for many years. Choosing our homestay accommodation will help you feel at home more easily!
What you can expect from your host family:
- Room: A private, clean and comfortable room for each student.
- Furniture: A bed with bedding, a chest of drawers and a desk. Access: To a bathroom and laundry facilities.
- Distance: approx. 30 to 50 minutes by public transport to the school.
- Families: friendly and welcoming English-speaking host families from a variety of backgrounds, reflecting Vancouver’s multicultural population. Some families may be able to accommodate more than one international student.
- Lifestyle: You can specify your preferences regarding diet, smoking/non-smoking, children, etc.
- Facilities: 3 meals a day included, Wi-Fi internet access, 24-hour emergency telephone number.
During your language course, you will stay with a carefully selected English-speaking host family in the Greater Vancouver area, all of whom have good links to the public transport network.
Some families have several exchange students living in their home. However, every effort is made to ensure that, where possible, there are no other German-speaking students in the accommodation. Accommodation is in single rooms. Bed linen is provided by the family; students simply need to bring their own towels.
Transfers to and from Vancouver Airport are always included!
